LOVING PRESENCE: The Heart of Hakomi

General Information

Loving Presence is a dynamic state of being, which inspires emotional nourishment and a compassionate resonance between two people. It fosters an optimal environment for healing and transformation, where awareness, expression, and integration of emotionally held beliefs are welcomed.

Loving Presence involves specific skills, which promote a deep level of connection. In this Hakomi workshop we will explore and practice these skills through discussion and experiential exercises. Loving presence is learnable and inspires success of therapeutic relationships as well deep satisfaction in personal relationships.

  • Connect with and cultivate a state of loving presence: a quality of being which allows you to fully attend to another person with compassion and curiosity in a way that is nourishing to both.
  • Gently identify and integrate patterns of judgmental and negative thought formation about self and other.
  • Enjoy a two-day, embodied experience in a supportive, light hearted environment of self-study.
  • Apply loving presence in personal and therapeutic relationships.

For Whom
The workshop is open and relevant to both clinicians and the general public and serves as prerequisite hours for Hakomi Comprehensive Training and Hakomi Professional Training.

About Hakomi
The Hakomi Method of Experiential Psychotherapy is an elegant, comprehensive and highly effective approach to human change. Hakomi combines mindfulness, the body, and present experience to access and transform deeply held, life-limiting core beliefs. For over 30 years Hakomi has pioneered and integrated the use of mindfulness in the psychodynamic process. It is backed by thousands of hours of clinical applications and research into the neurological underpinnings of mindfulness. Hakomi can be successfully applied throughout a wide range of therapeutic applications (such as individual, couples and family therapy, group work) as well as in educational settings to facilitate self-exploration and personal growth.
