Mindful & Somatic Approaches to Assessment & Interventions

General Information

While Couples Therapy often seems complicated and challenging, it can nevertheless be dramatic, fast-paced and powerful. An experience-oriented approach can be particularly effective. Long standing patterns of stuckness and innate resources are both evoked and embraced. Old wounds, habitual attitudes and tangled interactions are explored and evolved. With great respect for both individuality and mutuality, each partner and the relationship itself can be offered support, healing opportunities, and the pursuit of heartful empowerment

Applying Hakomi mindfulness and experiential techniques with R-CS maps of the Self, this two-part workshop will give you tools of assessment based on psychodynamic and systemic orientations, practical skills that you can integrate immediately into your practice, and the benefit of Rob & Jon’s more than 50 years of combined therapy practice and teaching.

Mixing didactic segments with demonstrations, experiential exercises, and actual skills practice, this training will provide both theory and techniques for practitioners to feel more confident and work more effectively with couples.
